New Patients

Welcome to Mathis Family Chiropractic! We’re honored to care for you and your family. Below you’ll find everything you need to know before your first visit.

What to Expect

Warm Welcome & Conversation

Your appointment begins with a relaxed conversation about your health history, current concerns, and goals. We want to understand what brought you in and how we can best support you.

Focused Chiropractic Exam

Dr. Makala will perform a gentle, detailed exam to assess your posture, mobility, and areas of tension or discomfort. This may include orthopedic or neurological checks when necessary.

Personalized Plan of Care

After the exam, you’ll receive a clear explanation of findings and a customized care plan tailored to your individual needs — whether you’re here for pain relief, family care, pregnancy support, or wellness.

Your First Adjustment

Most patients receive their first adjustment on the same day. Adjustments are gentle, precise, and always tailored to your comfort level.

What to Bring with you

To make your first visit smooth and efficient, please bring:

  • A valid ID
  • Your insurance card (if applicable)
  • Any previous imaging or reports (optional, not required)
  • Completed intake forms (or arrive a few minutes early to fill them out)
  • A list of current medications (if any)
  • Comfortable clothing you can move easily in

Insurance and Payment Options

Insurance & Payment Information

We are happy to work with many insurance plans and are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and Medicare.

Because every policy is different, coverage can vary depending on your individual plan. Our team will help verify your benefits, explain what services are covered, and review any copays, deductibles, or out-of-pocket costs before care begins—so there are no surprises.

Medicare patients: Medicare typically covers chiropractic adjustments that are medically necessary. Services such as exams, therapies, or other adjunctive treatments are often considered non-covered. We will always review these details with you in advance so you can make informed decisions about your care.

No insurance? No problem.

We offer affordable self-pay options for individuals and families who prefer to pay directly for their care or who do not have chiropractic coverage. Our team will review pricing with you prior to treatment and can discuss visit packages or care plans designed to make consistent care budget-friendly.

Payment is due at the time of service, and we accept multiple forms of payment for your convenience.

If you have any questions about your coverage or the best option for you, please call our office—we’re happy to help.
